Capability 1 of 6
Turn website visitors into booked appointments. Without adding a step for your front desk.
The Welcome Agent is a branded chatbot that lives on your practice website. It answers the questions every new patient asks before they ever pick up the phone. Insurance coverage. Appointment availability. Where to park. What to expect at the first visit. Whether you take their kid or just adults.
It is not a triage tool. It is not a diagnostic AI. It is the conversational front door to your practice, available 24/7, branded to your name, and designed to convert curious visitors into booked appointments without your front desk having to answer one more call.
How it works
The Welcome Agent screens insurance against your in-network list and surfaces self-pay options when needed. It books consults directly into your scheduling system. It answers practice-specific questions grounded in the content your team provides during onboarding. And it hands off to your front desk for anything outside its scope, with the full conversation context attached, so your team is not starting from scratch.
Capability 2 of 6
24/7 patient answers grounded in your protocols. Not in ChatGPT.
The AI Chat is the heart of Neela. Every patient your practice serves gets a private, branded conversation channel to ask anything, anytime. Post-op wound questions at 11pm on a Saturday. Pregnancy symptoms at 3am. Medication confusion the morning after a visit. The questions your patients used to either call about or look up on ChatGPT.
Every answer is grounded in three things: the practice's specific protocols, the patient's actual history with your practice, and what the physician told the patient at their most recent visit. Neela reinforces. It never replaces. And it never gives a medical diagnosis.
How it works
AI Chat is available 24/7 with no patient or message limits. Every response is grounded in your practice's protocols, configured during onboarding and updated whenever your team updates them. Photo uploads are supported for wound checks, rash evaluations, and other visual concerns. Every conversation is logged and accessible to your care team, creating a documented trail of patient communication that supports both clinical continuity and malpractice protection.
Capability 3 of 6
Every visit generates a task list. Nothing falls through.
After every appointment, Neela generates a personalized task list for the patient based on what the physician decided. Take this medication for ten days. Schedule the glucose test by week 24. Stop the blood thinner three days before surgery. Pick up the bowel prep on Thursday. Get the A1c lab drawn before the next visit.
For practices in value-based care contracts, this is also how HEDIS gaps get closed, how annual wellness visits get scheduled, and how chronic disease patients actually take their medications. Tasks show up in the patient's Neela app on their phone, with the right reminder at the right time, in plain language.
How it works
Tasks are generated from your visit notes or your visit summary, automatically or with one click by your care team. Reminders come through Neela's app, with timing tuned to clinical evidence, not arbitrary daily pings. Family members can see and help with tasks when the patient invites them, useful for aging parents, post-op recovery, and pediatric care. Task completion data flows back to your team's dashboard, so the patient who is struggling becomes visible before they end up in the ED.
Capability 4 of 6
The plain-language recap your patients actually remember.
Patients forget 40 to 80% of what was said in the consult. The visit summary fixes that. Within minutes of the appointment ending, Neela generates a plain-language recap of what was discussed, what was decided, what comes next, and when. The patient gets it on their phone before they pull out of the parking lot.
It is not a clinical note. It is not a SOAP note. It is a patient-readable, plain-language version of the visit, written the way you would write it for your own family member. And critically, the patient's partner, adult child, or caregiver can read the same summary, so the family stays aligned with what the physician actually said.

How it works
Visit summaries are generated automatically after each appointment, ready for the patient before they get home. They are written in plain language, with medical terms explained inline. They include a 'Next steps' section that maps directly to the patient's task list. They are shareable with family members at the patient's discretion, creating one source of truth for everyone supporting the patient's care.
Capability 5 of 6
Lab results, consents, imaging, discharge instructions. One organized place.
Every practice has a version of this problem. The patient calls because they cannot find the consent form. The lab result PDF is buried in an email from three weeks ago. The discharge instructions are on a printout in the kitchen drawer. The pre-op clearance letter never made it from the cardiologist. Your front desk re-faxes documents that the patient already received once.
The document vault solves that. Every document your practice generates for the patient, plus everything they upload from outside care, lives in one organized place inside their Neela app. Searchable. Tagged. Shareable with family. Always accessible.
How it works
The vault accepts uploads from your practice (PDFs, images, scanned forms) and from the patient (insurance cards, outside records, photos of paper documents they were given). Documents are auto-tagged by type and visit. Family members can be granted view access on a per-document or per-folder basis. And critically, your front desk stops being the document retrieval team for the things you already sent.
Capability 6 of 6
Pregnancy is not solo. Surgery recovery is not solo. Chronic disease is not solo.
Modern care is rarely a one-person job. The pregnant patient has a partner who is trying to keep up. The post-op surgery patient has a spouse changing the dressing. The 78-year-old diabetic has an adult child managing the medications. Right now, the healthcare system has no infrastructure for these people. They get blocked by HIPAA at the front desk, they ask their own ChatGPT separately, and they show up to appointments with different information than the patient.
Family coordination fixes that. The patient can invite their partner, spouse, adult child, or designated caregiver to Neela with the access level the patient chooses. The family member gets the same visit summaries, the same task lists, the same documents, and their own conversation channel with Neela, all grounded in the practice's guidance. Everyone in the patient's care orbit moves through care together.

How it works
The patient controls who gets access and what they can see. Family members can have read-only access, task-assistance access, or full conversation access depending on the relationship. Each family member has their own conversation with Neela, grounded in the patient's care plan, so they can ask their own questions without burdening the patient. And the practice gets a more engaged family unit without adding a single step to its workflow.
The things you don't see, but you need
The product is six capabilities. The infrastructure is what makes them work.
A few things underneath the surface that practice owners ask about on every demo.
EHR integration
Neela lives alongside Epic, Athena, eClinicalWorks, and other major EHRs, configured during onboarding. Your physicians keep documenting where they document today. Neela pulls in what it needs (visit notes, problem lists, medications, scheduling) and writes back what your team needs (patient messages, task completion data, conversation logs).
White-label branding
Neela is your practice's product, not ours. Your name. Your logo. Your colors. Your domain. Patients experience Neela as an extension of the practice they trust, not as a third-party app they signed up for separately. Three branding tiers are available: co-branded ('Neela for [your practice]'), practice-branded with a 'powered by Neela' footer, or pure practice branding.
HIPAA, SOC 2, and your patients' data
Neela is HIPAA compliant, SOC 2 certified, and offers BAAs to every practice. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. The most important commitment: your patients' data is never used to train our AI models.
Onboarding and configuration
Standard onboarding takes two to four weeks. Your protocols, your sub-specialty mix, your branding, your EHR, all configured before launch. Your team's training is about an hour total. We bring the work, your team brings the protocols. Then your patients meet Neela the day you go live.
